Affordable Housing
Operation Threshold offers the Safe & Stable Housing Program to help families and individuals find safe, decent and affordable housing. The agency also owns and manages rental units in both Independence and Waterloo.
Safe & Stable Housing (SSH) Program
The purpose of Operation Threshold's Safe and Stable Housing (SSH) program is to provide short-term emergency assistance that meets a basic need as well as addresses barriers that prevent low-income families from accessing or maintaining safe and stable housing. Assistance will be provided for crisis housing situations including, but not limited to:
- Security deposit assistance – to help households access housing
- Health/Safety assistance – to address insect or other infestation to make the housing safe
- Rent assistance – to avoid eviction or access housing (on a case-by-case basis)
- Other crisis needs that impact a household's ability to access or maintain safe and stable housing
Contact Enisa at (319) 292-1824 for assistance.
